What we believe
We are a “dependent”, fundamental, Bible believing, Baptist Church. “Dependent” on God’s word but “independent” of any organized church group. We don’t put a lot of emphasis on the Baptist part of the name of our church. We know that there will be many other born again believers in heaven that were not Baptists here on earth.
Jesus told Nicodemus in John chapter 3 “Ye must be born again.” He didn’t say that ye must be a member of a Baptist church to enter heaven. Attending church will not get anyone in heaven. Neither will baptism or putting money in the offering plate.
However, this does not mean that we abdicate not attending church, nor attending a church that does not preach and teach the Word of God. Hebrews 10:25 says “Not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. “
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and that the Authorized 1611 King James Version or what is commonly called ‘The Old King James Version’ is the version of the Bible for the English speaking people. We base all our beliefs on this Word of God. We do not just believe what we want to believe, we believe what God’s Word says. The Bible says in II Timothy 3: 16, 17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. Which simply means that we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, not just a good man, not just a prophet but God himself. The Bible says in John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Later on in this chapter the Bible says that “the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” Isaiah 9:6 says “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.“
